Stanley Hotel Wedding Photos Estes Park, CO | Christina and Kenny

Featured Portfolio Portfolios Weddings

The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO as a wedding venue, what more can we say than AMAZING! There are few places in Colorado as iconic as the Stanley Hotel and Christina and Kenny could not have picked a better place for their intimate family wedding.

This was definitely a winter wedding. It was February, the sun was out and the wind was howling, but that didn’t interfere with their ceremony. Christina and Kenny got ready in one of the Stanley’s rooms – not one of the haunted ones – and as far as we can tell no ghosts showed up in our photos. Christina made her way down the staircase and into the bright Music Room where Kenny and about 30 of their closest family and friends came together to celebrate their union.

The ceremony was heartfelt and included an sand ceremony in which the couple and Kenny’s children added sand to a vase to symbolize their coming together as a family. Following the ceremony, we made formal portraits of the couple and various family groupings on the Stanley Hotel’s historic staircase. Then, as the family made their way to the Lodge next to the Stanley Hotel, we borrowed the couple to make some more portraits around the iconic hotel. There were so many options that it was hard to pick. We even took them outside to brave the winter wind to make some photos with the surrounding peaks of the majestic Rocky Mountains in the background. Christina and Kenny were such brave souls to put up with us but we think the photos are worth it and their warmth shows through despite the icy surroundings.

Many people plan their weddings in the summer but that leaves out the beautiful opportunities that a Colorado winter presents. Sure, logistics are a bit more difficult – you’ll most likely want to have an indoor option for the ceremony – but if winter is your time of year, consider it the perfect season to tie the knot.

Eric and Chris believe that the best photos in life aren’t posed, but happen naturally. As your wedding day unfolds, they will be there for every laugh and every tear. Two primary wedding photographers to capture every moment and emotion inside or out, rain or shine. And they will shoot all your portraits, too.
