Second Wedding – Cindy and Nick | Fort Collins Wedding Photographers
Cindy and Nick had been here before. Both stood on the altar and stared into the eyes of someone else. Both of those marriages brought joy through years of love and children. But there was also pain from the death of a spouse. Now, after loss and pain, came happiness once again in this second wedding. They had found one another and joined their families of adult children and proved that love is patient.
Not-so-traditional Second Wedding
Nick and Cindy chose to have their ceremony at Christ Center Community Church in Fort Collins where Nick is a member. The bridal party – all family – gathered early to prepare for the big day. We’re well acquainted with the Stevens family. We’ve photographed for Nick and his family for years, starting with Lexy and Jonathan’s wedding and then Nick the younger and his bride Brittany a year later. In fact, we joke that we have a standing date to photograph a Stevens wedding event each July. We were fairly sure what we were walking into but each wedding adds another layer to the Stevens mystique. Despite having the moniker of second wedding, this event wasn’t just about the love these two shared, but the coming together of two loving families.
Fort Collins City Park
The couple wanted to get away from the fray of the day for a moment so we could get some photos of them. They picked Fort Collins City Park which was quite a ways across town but well worth the trip. We found a great bridge and tree to photograph them in front of and the nearby stream provided some great greenery as well.
After the couple’s first dance in the backyard at Cindy’s home, Nick surprised his bride by singing his beautiful interpretation of Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love.” Family and friends toasted the couple, they cut cake and danced the night away (when they weren’t visiting the photo booth, that is). We’ve always loved photographing weddings, but making photos for the Stevens family, and now their extended families, has become a great Stark Bellamy tradition. We hope to say the same for the years to come as we become a small part of the unions we photograph.
