Mountain Engagement Photos | Stacy and John
Stacy and John were going to have a mountain wedding at Stacy’s father’s house outside of Lyon’s, Colorado so why not get their mountain engagement photos done in the same stunning and personal location? The only problem is the tricky Colorado spring weather.
Stacy and John’s Mountain Engagement Photos
These two decided early on that they where going to have a mountain wedding at the home where Stacy grew up so why not do the mountain engagement photos in the same location?
We started out shooting their mountain engagement photos on a beautiful spring evening but the weather quickly started to change so we used an old Ford truck to keep the couple dry as we photographed them. But then, when it really started to rain with thunder and lightning, we had to call it early. We got some stunning engagement photos, but didn’t get the whole session in.
Stacy and John really loved the photos we shot but Stacy had her heart set on having a sunset in her mountain engagement photos, so we planned another mini session to see if we could get some more color in the sky. At first it didn’t look promising as we shot in the trees, hoping that the sun would sneak out just long enough to get a nice colorful sunset. Well, our patience paid off. Just as we were about to give up on any color, the sunset reflected off the clouds and we got one of the best Colorado sunsets we’ve seen in a long time. It even seemed to last extra long.
Chris and I shot as many photos as we could in that magic hour of light. Stacy and John got their sunset and a whole lot more. We at Stark Bellamy Photography believe that the best photos are captured as naturally as possible. Give us a call if you’d like to talk about your sunset mountain engagement photos!
