Estes Park Wedding Photography
I love photographing weddings in Estes Park for one reason; It is an amazingly beautiful and special place especially with Rocky Mountain National Park as a backdrop.
I grew up in Westminster, Colorado, just 40 miles from Estes. As a child it was one of my parents favorite locations for family picnics and camping trips. As a teenager I would go rock and ice climbing in the “Park” as we called Rocky Mountain National Park. Also in those days I would take my dates there. What can I say, winter, spring, summer or fall, it is romantic and beautiful place. There aren’t many places where you can drive an hour and be in one of the most gorgeous mountain playgrounds in the world. By the way, I’m taking a romantic weekend with my wife there in a few weeks.
Later as a Photojournalist working at the Loveland Reporter-Herald I welcomed any chance to head up to Estes and the Park to photograph everything from elk bugling to the annual snow plowing of Trail Ridge Road. It was like a vacation except I was getting paid.
As a wedding photographer I have shot in Estes Park twice, and I want more! One was a summer wedding at Della Terra Mountain Chateau and the other was a snowy fall wedding at Wild Basin Lodge. Both weddings were beautiful in their own way, but the fact that they both had Rocky Mountain National Park as a backdrop makes them both special to me. Different views but both spectacular all the same.
The fact about the Estes Park area is that it is inspiring to almost everybody. If you are planning on having a mountain wedding in the area, you know what I am talking about. You either have childhood bond with the place or you saw it when you drove in from Loveland or Longmont and knew that it was right for you.
The amazing beauty and my fond memories of the mountain playground are all the inspiration I need to make beautiful wedding photos. Leave a comment or drop us line to see how Stark Bellamy Photography can work with you to add to your Estes Park memories.
