Tesia and Ryan’s Cherokee Castle wedding was the perfect venue to have a Disney Princess themed wedding in Colorado! I had the opportunity to second shoot this awesome wedding with Lisa Higginbotham of Oh Snap Productions and am so glad I did!
Cherokee Castle Wedding
The bride and groom’s Cherokee Castle wedding made for a dramatic backdrop especially with the Disney Princess theme. The castle itself was built outside of Sedalia, CO in the 1920’s and was designed to look like a 15th century Scottish castle. The neat thing is, it is not cheesy or tacky at all, totally cool actually!
Disney Princess Wedding
Tesia wanted Disney Princesses to be the theme of her Cherokee Castle Wedding and she got it! The bride’s maids where dressed in elegant gowns and the adorable flower girls were totally rocking the princess dresses and have I mentioned the castle? Her hair was styled with ribbons and covered with a veil and all topped off be a flowing gown. The smallest flower girl so adorably broke away from the others and clapped for the bride and groom as they kissed at the end of the ceremony.
After the Cherokee Castle wedding ceremony we took the wedding party to the back side of the castle to do the bridal party and bride and groom portraits. The west side of Cherokee Castle is one of the most awesome places I have ever had to shoot portraits. The big windows make for a great backdrop and the view to the west is amazing.
We got in just a few portraits before a summer storm moved in and sent us all running for cover. So what do you do when you are waiting for a rain and lightening storm to move through? Shoot more amazing bride and groom portraits of course!
